Nicollet island sits astride the Mississippi River close by downtown Minneapolis. Today, its 17 remaining houses contribute a 19th century architectural sampler for Minneapolis’s early residential architecture.
Design for Preservation provided rehabilitation design documents for six house restorations that represent each of Nicollet Island’s representative styles: Greek Revival, Italianate, and Victorian.
